Check a company before making a transfer
The free Ministry of Finance register opens in a new tab. You need the company's NIP tax number or bank account number.
Open the VAT registerHow to check the details
- Enter the details in the official search tool and select the date to check.
- Compare the company name, VAT status and account number with the transfer details.
- Save confirmation of the result. Resolve any mismatch before paying.
The register does not confirm the company's solvency. It does not guarantee transaction security or provide individual tax advice.

Has the company already failed to pay?
Checking a NIP alone will not recover your money. You can separately submit the unpaid invoice for assessment.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
If you have not found an answer, write to us and describe what you need.
Ask a question- Is checking a business partner free?
- Yes. A NIP check in the Ministry of Finance's VAT register (White List) is free, without an account or registration.
- What will I see after entering the NIP?
- The entity's identification details, VAT status and bank accounts listed in the register as at the selected date. The register does not confirm the business's solvency or replace a full business partner check.
- Why check a business partner before a transaction?
- Payment to an account outside the White List may have tax consequences, while the partner's status and history help assess non-payment risk. It is better to check before issuing an invoice.
- My business partner has stopped paying. What next?
- Submit a debt recovery case online. We recover B2B debts (demand, electronic court, bailiff), with success-based commission and no upfront fees.
